This is a great venue for locals and visitors to the Carteret County area to learn more about and buy local goods from area fisherman, farmers, musicians, yoga instructors, botanical oils, and artist. This venue takes place every Saturday from 8:30 am till 12:30 pm under the old oak trees at the courthouse square. This market focuses heavily on 1) skilled workers who make things with their hands and 2) Food producers who make high quality products in a traditional way.

The Olde Beaufort Farmers Market is a 501c3 non-profit organization who’s mission is to promote the local community while enhancing the quality of life of local food producers and others. This organization also does a lot of work in helping vulnerable populations within Carteret County such as the Hope Missions and Boys and Girls Club. Additionally, the board of directors created a scholarship program and internship opportunities at several of the local high schools.

News:

12/14/2019: Officials announced that the farmers market will be open Saturday, December 21, 2019 from 4:30 pm till 8: 30 pm for a special holiday fair where 75 vendors delight local shoppers. Officials also announced that Santa and Mrs. Clause accepted an invitation to be at the gazebo area starting at 5:30 pm to meet with area children. Additionally, several local musicians will be on hand to entertain shoppers and area food trucks will be at the courthouse to help get everyone fed. If you are looking for the best fresh, locally grown vegetables, fruits, homemade baked goods, breads, farm raised meats and eggs, and oysters then we think you will enjoy this event.

Update 10/5/2018: We are aware that farmers market officials and county administrative officials and commissioners are dealing with an incident that could, or could not, require that this event take place at another location within Beaufort or possibly at another location within the county. As soon as we get word from market officials we will update this post.

    I love Saturday mornings because of this market, love seeing the locals getting to meet in an old fashioned way.

    I strongly encourage everyone to come out to this farmers market every Saturday and help support local artist and food producers. It is a great atmosphere under the old live oaks in a historical setting to support not only local homegrown production but also local charities. Beaufort is a lot better because of this attraction.
