The Pelagic Hunter II (outboard division) weighed a 495.2 marlin putting it in 1st place (Level 1 and 2) which is amazing that a 35 foot center console boat went out in the Gulf Stream and was able to get a almost 500 lb marlin in the boat. Latest News

As of May 1, 2020, tournament officials announced that this year’s competition will proceed normally starting on June 6 with the Keli Wagner Tournament and continuing with the Big Rock from June 8-13. However, officials did announce that there will be no social events or public weigh-ins.

Is the Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament cancelled due to the COVID-19 Coronavirus? As of April 17, 2020, officials announced that they are closely monitoring the latest with Coronavirus and will make a determination as we get closer to June on whether to cancel in favor of a later date. Big Rock officials offered July 5th through July 12 as a possible alternative. We will update this section as we learn more.

As of June 8 at 9:00 am there are 205 boats registered.

Winner And Current Leader – Pelagic Hunter II is now in 1st place (Level 1 and 2) with a 495.2 lb fish. Predator with a 494.2 lb blue marlin (Day 1) is in 1st place (Level 3 and 4).

The official winner of the Big Rock is the Pelagic Hunter II which had the largest blue marlin catch of the tournament. However, because the Pelagic Hunter II only entered in to some of the levels, this boat won just around $216,000 compared to the Sea Striker that won near 1.1 million dollars because they entered all levels even though they caught the smaller fish. Since nobody won the fabulous fisherman club money ($552,500) which requires a boated blue marlin 500 lbs or greater, this money went to the Level 5 participant with the most releases.

Who is currently inbound to the scales? – None

The yacht Catch 23 is owned by Michael Jordan and is a participant in this year’s tournament, he is known to be an avid fisherman who loves offshore fishing, but it’s not known if Catch 23 is chartered out by others during this tournament or if he will be one of the participants.
