If you are visiting Beaufort NC as a visitor or tourist in the Spring, Summer, and Fall months and decide to take a stroll along the boardwalk and docks then will will get a glimpse of the many luxury yachts, sport fishing boats, old schooners, and sailboats that either call this port home or who are here temporarily as a stop for their adventures along the East Coast and Bahamas.

If you are in the area at night when a local artist is playing at the Dock House or Queen Ann’s Revenge, you will get the opportunity to experience a peace unlike any I have felt anywhere in my travels as you listen to the music, feeling the wind off the water, while sailboat masts clink in the wind.

The docks at Taylors Creek is also home to many reenactments that involve historical boats of the pirate era during the annual Beaufort Pirate Invasion.

If you are visiting Beaufort, the boardwalk and waterfront is amazing especially at night. I love this area, listening to the sailboat mast clinking in the breeze, see the older model of sailboats, the whole mystique is quiet amazing.

Great place to sit at either the Dock House Restaurant or Queen Ann’s Revenge and listen to live music late at night listening to the sailboat mast clinking in the wind. This whole area of Beaufort is very nice and a great place to visit in both the daytime and night.

I hear Taylor’s Creek got hit pretty bad by Hurricane Florence and a lot of boats anchored on the water ended up on Carrot Island. Hope everyone survived the storm well and will look forward to seeing your guys next summer!

My wife and I visited Beaufort NC this summer and one night we were walking the boardwalk and there were many 80 foot luxury yachts and sailboats in the water, are those owned by locals?

No, locals keep their boats in other areas. The one’s you saw are boats that are traveling from the Northeast to the Caribbean Islands, Florida, or the Bahamas or on their way back from those areas. The Beaufort docks is a very popular port of call for people that sail on the East Coast.
