Carteret Community College To Conduct Curriculum Classes Online Starting Monday Due To Coronavirus Concerns

Officials at Carteret Community College announced that beginning Monday, March 16, 2020 a majority of their curriculum classes will be taught online via the Moodle online learning system over concerns about the coronavirus.

College administrators also gave no indication when on-campus classes would resume.

Classes that are unable to be taught online may still continue to meet at the college with approval. Additionally, all patron services are cancelled.

On Thursday, March 12, 2020, Governor Roy Cooper announced recommendations for combating coronavirus by ending gatherings of 100 or more people in public. Additionally, the entire UNC System and most private colleges in the state have cancelled all on-campus classes.

Carteret County NC officials continue to say there is no need to close public K-12 schools.
