Parks and Recreation has a family beach run series in the summer months. The cost in 2018 was $50 for all 7 series but it is open to all ages and you get a T-Shirt. Great fun to run with others on the beach.

Don’t forget local High School sports. Croatan, West Carteret, and East Carteret have robust football teams and Friday nights in the county get pretty heated. And, the Mullet Bucket is like the Superbowl came to Beaufort and Morehead City.

Each High School has has excellent basketball, tennis, wrestling, soccer, and baseball teams.

Anyone interested in Carteret County sports teams and athletics should really give their local High School athletics their support!
