Brady Birthing Center
Women’s services, breastfeeding classes, maternal child health department, labor and delivery, intermediate nursery, health care screening, obstetrics, family education, support groups, Ultrasonography, beautiful home-like environment across six birthing suites.
Full range of oncology services, national cancer accreditation, UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center partnership, screening and education, support groups, clinical trials, breast cancer treatment and support, chemotherapy, imaging, multidisciplinary treatment teams consisting of nutritionist, oncologist, nurses, and social workers.

Carteret Health Care in Morehead City NC also offers additional services in the areas of cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation, diabetes care, joint and spine care, weight loss surgery, wound healing and hyperbaric medicine, food and nutritional services, and radiology.
CHC offered the Town of Morehead City 1.2 million dollars to buy the abandoned National Guard armory adjacent to the facility on Bridges St. The local hospital wants to purchase the property to build a helipad for helicopters that transfer trauma patients and critically hurt patients to area trauma centers. Currently, the local medical center has permission to land life flight helicopters only on a grassy part of the armory grounds.
Effective March 16, 2020:
- Only patients, staff and immediate, healthy family members may enter CHC.
- Use the main lobby and the emergency department entrances. All others will be secured. The main lobby entrance will be open from 6 a.m. until 7 p.m.
- Anyone who enters CHC will be screened for respiratory signs and symptoms.
- Visitation will be limited to healthy, immediate family members over 16 years of age. Identify the same one to two visitor(s) per day. Only visit if necessary and if you are healthy. All others should consider virtual options to communicate with patients.
- The cafeteria will not be open to the public.
Carteret Health Care administrators took action to review policies and emergency preparedness plans this week at the facility as this medical institution faces the threat of coronavirus in North Carolina. Additionally, a hospital spokesperson said that they have implemented a “COVID-19 Task Team” led by Emergency Management to maintain a constant state of readiness should coronavirus cases pop up in the county. Additionally, the local hospital is maintaining significant contact with state health care officials, state emergency management and NC DHHS.
Harvey Case officially became the CEO of Carteret Health Care on January 27, 2020
January 2020: Administrators at the hospital placed visitation restrictions due to the high potential for flu transmission during the season. Children under 12 should refrain from being at the hospital unless they are receiving care. There is an exception for healthy siblings who are visiting the maternal child health ward. Additionally, under the current visitation restriction, patients will be limited to 2 visitors.
November 21, 2019: Carteret Health Care administrative staff announced that our local hospital is the first medical center in the State of NC to become part of the Mayo Clinic Care Network allowing physicians access to greater knowledge and expertise. Additionally, being a part of the Mayo Clinic Care Network will allow local physicians and clinical staff to give greater levels of care with no additional cost. Interest include Carteret Medical Group (CMG).
November 1, 2019: The hospital board of trustees has announced that William “Harvey” Case will be the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) replacing outgoing CEO Dick Brvenik who is retiring at the end of January 2020. Prior to his start date of February 1, 2020, Harvey Case was at Vidant Beaufort Hospital in Washington, NC. He held this position for eight years. Prior to this, he served as president of Vidant Pungo Hospital, as well as president of Duplin General Hospital and vice president of finance/ operations at Vidant Community Hospitals.
November 2, 2019: CHC Fall Craft Fair will take place to benefit the Joan Lamson Cancer Benevolent Fund. The craft fair will take place in the strip mall parking lot by EL’s on Bridges St. Contact Michelle Ingram if interested in purchasing a $35 vendor booth.
October 2, 2019: Representatives will be at West Carteret High School to present information about their scholarship that covers 90% of in-state tuition for students interested in becoming at Registered Nurse, Respiratory Therapist, or Radiologist.
