Update August 2019: This month the NCDOT announced that work on the Havelock bypass is to begin, with a completion date of 2020. When completed, this will mean that Smithfield, Goldsboro, and Havelock will have a bypass. That leaves New Bern and Kinston to be completed. Once this entire interstate is in place, projections are that Crystal Coast visitors will explode in growth. Morehead City will explode in growth, and tourism will look much different.

As a small business owner in the area, or someone with business investments in the community, please use the comment section below to let us know what impacts you think these new visitors to the city and county will have upon our area.

Hi James, no we are in NO way part of the visitor center, the Tourism Development Authority, or county in any way.

We are a private entity that loves writing about the area and helping others that visit to learn more about the Crystal Coast and providing them a way to discuss topics related to the area. We write about topics in all communities, not just Morehead City.
