Emerald Woods Park in Emerald Isle NC

Located at 9404 Coast Guard Rd, Emerald Isle, NC 28594 and the telephone number is 252-354-3424. This facility has a 9 hole course.

Fort Benjamin Park in Newport NC

Located at 100 McQueen Ave, Newport, NC 28570 and the telephone number is 252-222-5858. This park has a 9 hole course.

We know of no disc golf courses in Morehead City, Beaufort, or Atlantic Beach.

Eastern Park in Smyrna

This location saw the construction of a 18 hole disc golf course in 2019.

Considering Emerald Woods Park and Fort Benjamin Park, what are the course conditions for each? What is the difficulty level? We do know that both courses are free to use by the public.

Are there any formal groups in the area that revolve around this sport, and if so where do these groups meet-up locally?

If someone is considering starting this sport, what is the difficulty level compared to traditional golf courses played with the little white ball?

What is the average new and used cost for a bag that has all the discs needed to play this sport?

For someone new to this sport, are the rules comparable to traditional golf? If not, what are the differences?

Are there any local tournaments that routinely take place at the parks in Newport and Emerald Isle?

If you are a developer in the local community, are there any frisbee golf courses being planned for the Morehead City, Beaufort, and Atlantic Beach areas?

Does anyone know if the two courses in the county are pet friendly? Are both courses handicap accessible?

Are there any programs at area parks and recreation departments that introduce and encourage disc golf to kids in programs during the spring, summer, and fall months when summer camps are in session?

Is parking reasonable and widely accessible to the 2 county courses?

Other than the bag of discs used in this sport, what is some other recommended equipment to a beginner that might be interested in this sport?

What is some information that we missed concerning Carteret County frisbee golf parks in the communities we focus on in this article?

Emerald Woods Park is located in extreme western Carteret County near the border of Onslow County and Fort Benjamin is located near the Craven County line in the western part of the county.

Let’s hope soon that municipal parks in areas down east, or in Beaufort will develop a local course so that residents and visitors to these areas can enjoy this sport.

    Have there been any new courses built since this article was published? I’ll be visiting this Summer and think it would be great to play a game or two at the beach.
