March 2, 2020: Reports on social media of a “serious and very bad” head on collision and that 101 is currently closed at 8 pm. We will update this post as we learn more from law enforcement. We have no information of types of vehicles involved in this reported wreck.
January 22, 2020 – Local law enforcement confirms that a motor vehicle accident at the intersection with Old Winberry Road has traffic stopped in both directions. As of 1:00 pm, one lane is open after this head on collision where multiple departments responded is open to traffic. One lane is still being diverted down Old Winberry. 1:27 pm update: Rescue crews are reporting that a medical helicopter was seen departing the area. 6 pm update: The State Highway Patrol now says that a Havelock man was killed in today’s accident where another driver allegedly went left of the center line and struck the vehicle driven by the Havelock man head on.
January 17, 2020 – 9:45 pm – Reports on social media of a high speed chase involving law enforcement and a single car. There are no reports yet as this is developing. We will update this post with more information as we receive information from police about the chase.
Update 11:10 pm: Social media reports that the chase ended at Highway 70 and 101 where police either had the vehicle pulled or it was blocked in. Still no official confirmation from law enforcement.
