Late At Night Things To Do In Carteret County NC – Bars, Live Music, Eat

So you are looking for things to do late at night while visiting the Carteret County communities of Beaufort, Newport, Morehead City, Atlantic Beach, and Emerald Isle? Good, because this article was written for that purpose. However, keep in mind that this is not a complete list of everything, but it will get you in the right direction. If you find bars, live music, or places to eat that are open later in the night then please use the comment section below and we will add your information.

In Morehead City

Jacks Bar located on the waterfront in Morehead City is probably one of the largest bars in the county and provides live music, waterfront deck, multiple bars, dancing, loud music, and even has a pizza food truck.

Local Area Attractions And Destinations
Chefs 105 just down the street from Jacks Bar also has live music, dancing, and multiple bars.

Across the street from Chefs 105 is Southern Salt, and they have a waterfront deck, occasionally have live music, and multiple areas to get drinks. This bar is much more laid back than Jacks Bar or Chefs 105.

Next door to Southern Salt is the Redfish grill. No live music that we know of, but they do have a laid back atmosphere bar and outside deck.

Ir you are looking for a bar where you can play pool at night, then Boyds Billiards on Arendell St in downtown is a great location to listen to music, play in a tournament, and enjoy drink specials.

The Arendell Room and Crystal Coast Brewery are both bars on Arendell St just down from Boyds Billiards that sometimes offers live music in a very relaxed and quiet atmosphere.

In uptown Morehead City next to Hampton Inn is Shipwrecks Bar and Grill and they have pool tables and live music.

As for places to eat and get food, McDonalds on Hwy 70 East is open 24 hours a day (Drive Through After 10 pm), as is the Waffle House.

In Beaufort

Queen Ann’s Revenge and The Dock House Restaurant are great places to get something to eat late at night and are located on the waterfront boardwalk in Beaufort. Both restaurants have full service bars.

Across Front St from The Dock House, is Clawsons Restaurant and their bar is very laid back.

Fishtowne Brew House is located on Turner St in Beaufort and has a great assortment of craft beers in a laid back atmosphere.

The Cru Wine Bar and coffee house and Backstreet Pub are located on Middle St at the intersection of Turner St and offer a very laid back atmosphere, bar, and drink specials.

The only place to eat late at night in Beaufort, NC is the 24 hour McDonalds on Live Oak St.

In Atlantic Beach

The Tackle Box Tavern is a late night bar on the circle in Atlantic Beach, has live music, somewhat of a active and loud atmosphere, and outside sitting area just yards from the beach.

Idle Hour Biergarten is also located on the circle just across from the Tackle Box Tavern and has a much more laid back atmosphere and live music.

On Fort Macon Boulevard, is The Beach Tavern (BTs) and they have a great laid back bar and pool tables along with a grill that is open till 1 am.

The Tipsy Turtle Tavern on the Causeway Blvd in Atlantic Beach is a bar with a quiet atmosphere.

Crystal Coast Brewery is located on Fort Macon Blvd and offers live music occasionally, and has a great assortment of craft beer.

Further down the Island in Atlantic Beach and across from the Doubletree hotel is The Growler Bar and Tap Room offering craft beer specials in a quiet atmosphere.

We know of no place to get something to eat late at night in Atlantic Beach after most restaurants close. We know that the McDonalds at the beach IS NOT open after 10 pm.

Emerald Isle

The Growler Bar and Tap Room on Hwy 58 in Emerald Isle is a great place to get craft beer in a relaxed atmosphere. If you are looking for something more active and loud, then the Emerald Club on Hwy 58 offers dancing, loud music, and a outside sitting area.

While not actually in Emerald Isle, just across the bridge in Cape Carteret is the McDonalds that does have a 24 hour drive through. This is the only late night area that we know of in western Carteret County NC.

In Newport

Time Out Tavern is a pretty active bar with a grill and pool tables in Newport and is located on Old Highway 70.

If you are looking for craft beer in Newport, NC, then consider Shortway Brewing Company at 230 Chatham St.

Outside of bars, eating, and music, if you are looking for things to do, a walk on the beach late at night while enjoying the sounds of the ocean, and looking at the stars is your best bet.
