Great service thank you, this will be a good resource aside from social media sites like Facebook that are very active for county animal lovers who have missing pets. I am sure there are people that refuse or still don’t use social media to report missing or found dogs so this will of course help.

Hopefully, with new technology like GPS and chips being used more and more sites like this won’t be needed but I encourage any owner to please get your dog a chip or other type tracking system and work with your local veterinarians and other humanitarian organizations that do registration.

Also, as we found with the hurricane in 2018, many people just abandoned their dogs, please plan ahead and make these considerations before storm season and don’t abandon them.

A county missing pets website is a very good idea and I see you have dogs here but let’s also think about cats.

Did this website get any information relayed to you during Hurricane Florence? Have you let local veterinarians know about this service?

We understand many pets and dogs went missing during the hurricane but nobody used our database and web service. Our site is still pretty new so that was not surprising. We will definitely take your advice on letting local veterinarians know about this service.
