Shevans Park – Offers a fort-like kids playground, covered grilling areas, tennis courts, public restrooms, vending machine, and sitting areas for a great 1/2 day of relaxing and enjoying watching the kids play.
Martin Luther King, Jr City Park – Offers a kids playground, public restrooms, sitting areas, and dog walking area. Just a few blocks from the downtown and waterfront.Carteret County NC Information
Morehead City Docks – Public docks, local history, and great place to sit in swings and watch boats pass along the waterfront. This is a great place for shorebird watching and people enjoying Carrot Island. Just across the street from Bask Hotel and next to Olympus Dive Shop.
Jacks Bar – The largest nightclub and bar in Morehead City NC and a great place for live music and dancing. This is a multi-story facility so you can get great views for pictures and professional photography along the waterfront.
The Ordinary Restaurant – Very unique local restaurant for the family on vacation. Just across the street from Jacks Bar.
Olympus Dive Shop – Located on the waterfront, The Olympus Dive Shop offers training and guided tours of the waters off our coast.
Fishing Charter Boats – Morehead City NC is one of the largest fishing destinations in the world, and with that comes world class charter fishing. Whether you want to go offshore or stay closer inshore, these Captains offer 1/2 and full day excursions. These pictures were taken in downtown Morehead.
Off The Hook Restaurant and Bar – Off The Hook is a bar, restaurant, and great place to view live music on your visit to our town. Offers outdoor seating.
Southern Salt Seafood Restaurant – Offers outdoor deck seating along the waterfront with a great view of the waterway and charter fishing boats. Great selection for seafood and offers live music occasionally.
Big Rock Landing and Fishing Tournament – As one of the largest blue marlin fishing tournaments in the world, this venue attracts world class fishermen from around the world for a week of fishing action in the warm gulf stream waters just offshore. The tournament takes place in June annually.
Redfish Grill – The Redfish Grill and restaurant is a popular venue for vacationers to our town. Offers outdoor seating and live music occasionally.
Old City Hall and Police Department – Former location of government offices containing city hall and the local police department.
Webb Memorial Library – The Webb Memorial Library is the oldest and most historic library in Morehead City NC. This great venue offers books about our local culture and ecosystem along with artwork and pictures from the local area.
Calico Creek and Crab Point – Calico Creek and Crab Point is located just North on 20th street and offers a great place to take pictures of our local ecosystem, wildlife viewing, or taking a walk along the boardwalk to get some exercise.
