Has the powerboat racing championships always taken place in Carteret County? How did I miss this?

Paul, while the Crystal Coast Grand Prix is a local event recently revived, the OPA world championships held in Morehead City is not an event which normally takes place in the county as it’s historically taken place in FL. But, due to Coronavirus, organizers in FL decided not to host the event. So, people like Jeff McCann got with the OPA people and hosted it on our waterfront this year.
