Things To See And Do
NC Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores: Located at 1 Roosevelt Blvd, the NC Aquarium At Pine Knoll Shores is open daily and is a family oriented attraction that showcases many fish, marine mammals, and other species of marine life from the waters of the Atlantic Oceans and area waterways. Expect to see a large shark tank, snakes, shorebirds, saltwater marshes, jellyfish, crabs, sea turtles and sea turtle rescue exhibits, and a large auditorium where educational talks are given. In addition to these opportunities, there is even a kids play area. This attraction can be reached by calling 252-247-4003.
Families visiting this attraction can expect to spend a half day.
Beaches: All of Pine Knoll Shores is located on the island of Bogue Banks with the Atlantic Ocean on one side, and Bogue Sound on the other. The main road along Bogue Banks is Highway 58 and from this road you will find several CAMA public beach access areas where families on vacation can get to the beaches.
This town is very much a residential area with not a lot of commercial interest, but there are many single family homes, resorts, small hotels and motels, RV parks, and mobile home parks that cater to visitors. Please contact local real estate agencies about vacation rentals.
The beaches and sand dunes in this NC town are pristine, very clean, routinely nourished, and uncrowded. However, we do ask that visitors to this town learn more about rip currents along the beaches as each year there are several deaths and water rescues related to rip currents.
From May till September, there is world-class beach fishing opportunities in this area.

The town of Pine Knoll Shores is one of five towns on Bogue Banks and sits near the center to eastern edge of the island. This town borders Atlantic Beach to the east and Salter Path / Indian Beach to the west.
The town is mainly a residential area with single family homes, resorts, RV parks, and mobile home parks. Additionally, there are nearby motels and hotels, convenience stores, and small retail stores.
Visitors to this NC town typically find that the beaches are very majestic and uncrowded even in the busy tourism season which runs from May in the springtime to the late fall months ending around the end of August.
