A public fundraiser setup by Beaufort NC residents Mikail Hucks and Julia Royall raised nearly $18,000 to help employees displaced by the Spouter Inn Restaurant fire on December 22, 2019.

In addition to displacing employees of the popular restaurant, 6 apartments and 2 businesses were also destroyed.

The nearly $18,000 fundraiser undoubtedly will help employees during the busy holiday season and aid in their efforts to find new employment while efforts to rebuild the Spouter Inn are negotiated.

Mikail Hucks and Julia Royall noted that the employees of the Spouter Inn are like a family who loved working there, and clearly residents and visitors to the area loved the restaurant, so it’s fitting to see local Carteret County and Beaufort NC residents giving back to these employees.

Both say that continued fundraising efforts to help employees and owners rebuild are underway.
