Update 11:00 am: Officials say this restaurant fire is now contained. Still no reports of fatalities or injuries.

Update 8:00 am: The Morehead City Fire Department is reporting they are assisting Beaufort first responders, along with other departments from around the county. Smoke can reportedly be seen as far as Emerald Isle. No word if this blaze is affecting multiple structures along the waterfront or if it is just contained to the Spouter Inn and the shops and apartments above.

Update 7:42 am: Confirmed that this fire is involving the Spouter Inn along with 2 retail shops and apartments that sit above this structure. There are no reports of injuries at this time as crews from Beaufort NC are still working the scene.

Update 7:21 am: Confirmed that a fire boat is being used from Taylor’s Creek and that this is a large fire affecting most of the structure.

December 22, 2019 Breaking News

We are hearing reports of a structure fire near the Spouter Inn Restaurant and Bakery along the Beaufort NC waterfront.

Multiple crews including fire department crews from other jurisdictions are assisting in fighting this fire which started around 5:00 am.

According to social media post, the Beaufort Fire Department is using a boat along Taylor’s Creek to help fight this blaze.

There are conflicting reports as to whether the fire is NEAR the Spouter Inn Restaurant or actually is that structure.

We will update this post as we get new information from Beaufort.
