August 2019: The Marching Patriots began band camp in preparation for the Grand Nationals Marching Band Championship in November in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Band camp is a week long grueling of rehearsing, marching, and practice for these 160 students.

The cost for the marching patriots to attend the Nationals Band Championship is $140,000 and we encourage residents and parents to help join the band booster club.

I just saw where the West Carteret Marching Patriots performed in the 2018 Disney Christmas Parade in Florida! Go band! Getting to go to Disney World is a big accomplishment!

I graduated West Carteret in 1986 and played football under Coach McBride and wrestling under Coach Mann. Gordy Patrick was the principal then. In my senior year our varsity basketball team won the NC state championship.

I recently moved back to the area and was amazed to see that not much has changed esthetically to the outside building. I would be interested to see what has changed inside. Perhaps I can check out a football game this season to see what has changed in the stadium.

Is there still a mullet bucket rivalry between West and East now that Croatan is built?
