Wind Energy Farms Along The NC Coastal County Region

This will be an open and public discussion on wind energy farms which are starting to be built along the NC coast near Chowan, Dare, Hyde, Pamlico, Pasquotank, Perquimans, Washington, Onslow, Pender, New Hanover, Brunswick, and Carteret County NC.

The Future Of Wind Energy – County NC Coastal Discussions

Local communities include Cape Hatteras, Wilmington, Topsail Island, Edenton, Morehead City, Kitty Hawk, Elizabeth City, Corolla, Beaufort (Radio Island), Chowan, and other NC coastal locations.

Protecting The Environment

Interests near Kitty Hawk and Corolla will soon see 69 wind turbines by 2030. These locations are near Dare County and Currituck County.

Chowan, Pasquotank and Perquimans County are the earliest known wind energy projects along the Outer Banks.

The North Carolina State Ports Authority is looking to build and invest in a farm on Radio Island which sits between Beaufort and Morehead City near the port.

Amazon Wind Farm US East began operation in 2017 near Pasquotank and Perquimans counties where 104 windmill towers are located. The Amazon farm is the first utility-scale wind energy source in the State of NC.

A wind farm near the Albemarle Sound region is in early development for Chowan County, near Edenton.
